About

About It’s Fantastic:

Welcome to It’s Fantastic! I created this project to help preserve the history of Japanese arcade games and arcade culture, and make it more accessible to an international audience!

I’ve collected games for years and years, but recently found that something that brings me even more joy is collecting game literature, particularly around Japanese arcade games. There’s something extremely exciting to me about finding books and magazines about all the games I’m most passionate about, created for other people equally passionate about them. I want to be able to share that excitement with others!

The scans here come from my personal collection, so they can’t quite reach the level of perfection that they could if I were to remove the binding. Still, I do my best to provide them at the highest quality possible, and I’m constantly trying to find ways I can improve them. Please bear with me, and I appreciate your understanding!

By the way, the name It’s Fantastic comes from the arcade game Nostalgia! I love the aesthetic of the game, and it also ties in well to another (unaffiliated) project I was part of, It’s Symbolic.

About the Webmaster:

I’m Ben! You can refer to me by “they” or “he” or whatever you want! You can reach me at benjaminr@itsfantastic.moe

I really love arcade games! Some of my favorites are OutRun 2, pop’n music, Vampire Savior, Gachaga Champ, House of the Dead 3, and Money Idol Exchanger!

I studied Japanese formally from high school through college, and studied abroad briefly. Since graduating, I’ve continued to learn and practice, with It’s Fantastic being part of my efforts to refine my translation skills while providing to the arcade game community.

Let’s enjoy arcade games together!
